Since it's inception in 1998 The Official Cardiff Rifle Club Web Site has built up by over 2500 hits and has been seen by hundreds of people, some members, some interested in joining, some just browsing around at random who thought it would be a good place to look at. And while most people found what they wanted here there were some suggestions on how to improve the site, what other information to add and what features it would be good to contain.

All those of you who made suggestons will be glad to know that they were not simply disgarded, instead they were used along with the original content to create this new and improved version you see before you. Obviously it is not possible to please everyone but most of the most common requests have been seen to. Here I will take you through a list of changes and new features.

Site Design / Layout -
The most obvious change that anyone who visited the old site will notice straight away, the two main complaints before were that the colour scheme was a little too bold before, not the easiest on the eye and that the images took too long to load. So we have introduced this softer on the eye colour scheme of mainly blue and white which is also of course in sporting terms the recognised colours of Cardiff. The bullet points have also been removed from the menu pages, as indeed has any unnecessary graphics leaving the images on the site down to a minimum.

Navigation -
Again two suggestions here, one to increase the capacity of the left menu to allow one click access to more pages, this has been done with the inclusion of submenus which appear upon clicking on a topic. Also before there were too many different colours for links and they were not easy to spot, now there are only 3 different links.
1. Menu Links - Are blue and change to gold on a dark blue background when the mouse is placed over them.
2. Header Links - Found in the top right corner, used for dirct links to the latest news and updates are gold and change t dark blue on a light blue background.
3. Main Body Links - Links found scattered around main pages such as the "click to go back to news index" link above this article, are blue and turnred.

Information -
More detailed descriptions of the club have been updated to match the current situations, opening times have been added on request of a lot of readers, Competitions have been updates and a news desk has been added, again on request of a number of users and members.

New Feature -
A "Meet The Members" feature has been added to allow visitors to find out a little more about the sort of people we have at the club, who runs what and why and what we all get from shooting, hopefully this will convince everyone we are just normal run of the mill people with jobs and families like everyone else.

Interaction -
There are now many more forms to fill in depending on what type of information you require, this will get rid of the need for us toemail you asking fora more detailed description of what you want from us and also to easily categorise requests. Also a new messageboard has been set up for members and visitors alike to pass on messages and comments to us or each other.

Further Improvement -
