There are a number of reasons why you should become a member of Cardiff Rifle Club, the first and probably most obvious one is that being a member will allow you access to our range and premises and permission to use the club owned equipment such as rifles, mats and scopes.

Secondly, membership entitles you to enter into our internal club competitions and put your name forward for selection in the National and Welsh leagues as a team shooter, see the competitions section for more details about these activities.

Membership also entitles you to sit and vote at the club Annual General Meeting on matters effecting the running of the club, you also are able to apply to become a range officer or a member of the club committee who make most of the decisions that do not require a full membership vote such as applying for grants and recruitment strategies. The committee also generally decides the topics of discussion at the AGM although this is open to any member to raise a topic so long as notice is given.

Being a Committee member opens up the possibilities of standing for election as a club official, currently we have 5 such positions, Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Captain and Vice Captain as well as several liason people who help us keep in regular dialect with the ruling bodies of the sport, local councils and the police.

And lastly but certainly not least, as a non-profit organisation, we rely heavily on income in the form of club membership and green fees to provide the club with the funds to continue improving the facilities that we already have and plan for future development. During the past five rocky years it has only been this solid membership base which has kept us from dissappearing at the same time as our outside funding did.

Prices have actually been frozen for the past two years now for adults and the past 5 years for juniors which shows the clubs commitment to giving our members the best possible deal at our club, after all without members, we would not exist.
