Based in the Roath/Cathays are of Cardiff the club is Home Office approved and current membership has an age range of 16 to 85 and cater for all standards of shooting are catered for from beginner to international level.

Prone, Standing and Kneeling disciplines are provided for and participation in outdoor 50m and 100 yard competitions is encouraged. The Club does not have it's own outdoor facility, but uses that of the Llantrisant and Cardiff Rifle Club in the village of Llantrisant approximately 10 miles from Cardiff. They in return rent indoor range facilities from Cardiff Rifle Club.

At the present time the membership includes 4 current Welsh Squad members Peter Hawkins, Andy Germain, David Phelps and Robert Riddett with one or two more pushing for inclusion also. At some time during the year they will be shooting against the British Police Squad, the Army Rifle Club and representative matches in Europe. David Phelps is also the current (2001) British Champion having won the championships at Bisley earlier this year with a new record score.

Recent legislation has effected the ability to attract new members as much ill informed and adverse information has been generated against what is a very safe sport which unlike many, can be participated in whether old on young, able bodied or disabled on equal terms.

Regular internal competitions are held both indoor and outdoor and encouragement is given to up and coming members through participation in 'Own start' competitions.
